
This course delves into child development theories, observation and assessment techniques, developmental milestones, and the various factors influencing development from preschool through middle childhood. The curriculum emphasizes understanding and assessing developmental sequences across multiple domains, including approaches to play and learning, emotional and social development, health and physical growth, language and communication, and cognitive development.
Upon successful completion of EDU 145, students should be able to:
- Compare and contrast typical and atypical developmental characteristics.
- Explain the biological and environmental factors that impact development.
